Hello

Sue Cooper Independent Mental Health Nurse Advocate

My Name is Sue Cooper

I am a Independent Registered Mental Health Nurse with over 30 years of experience within the NHS, spanning a diverse range of clinical and managerial roles.

My work has taken me across the whole of the UK & my journey has been distinguished by a series of NHS awards recognising my dedication to recovery, rehabilitation & team development.

These achievements have propelled me to my current position, where I can champion the highest standards of care for all by following my passion to advocate and support others.

I have experiance the CHC process not just as a nurse assessor but also as an individual who's family needed to access NHS CHC funding

I have a special interest in helping football players & their families.

Inspired by my father, an exceptional footballer who played at professional and semi-professional levels, I developed a service that supports everyone and truly meets their needs.

He was also a Desert Rat in the army and represented the England squad as part of the Armed Forces Team, playing both nationally and internationally. On one memorable occasion, he travelled to Paris and played in a televised match in front of Charles De Gaulle.

Sadly, my father was diagnosed with dementia in his early 60s, as a family we were devastated.

While trying to support my father and come to terms with his deteriorating health, my mum & sisters were left bewildered & confused by the complexities of funding, the CHC processes & the lack of support or guidance.

I ultimately supported my family through the CHC process, developing their knowledge and understanding of CHC, my father’s rights and entitlements. This enable my father to be awarded full CHC funding until he sadly passed away.

I came to realise that many other families were facing challenges similar to my own, especially when my father’s former football teammates were also diagnosed with dementia. Their loved ones reached out for help, struggling to understand the complexities of what was required in terms of funding.

I therefore developed my business to support all people and address their needs. I am committed to delivering a high-quality service, built on empathy, care, and a genuine understanding of what truly matters.

In 2019, I founded my company and began working as an Independent Nurse, specialising in NHS Continuing Healthcare and Lasting Power of Attorney, with a particular focus on cognitive impairments.

My aim is to provide bespoke, compassionate support, committed to offering services that are not only personalised and caring but also truly affordable—at a cost that works for all
